Everything new players need to know before starting Crimson Desert.

Essential Tips

1. Master Grab Attacks

The grab system (G key) is essential. It breaks enemy stance and deals bonus damage. Use it liberally.

2. Balance Combat & Life Skills

Don't just fight - fishing, cooking, and crafting give permanentstat boosts and healing items.

3. Do Side Quests Early

Side quests give War Medals and silver. You'll need War Medals to unlock advanced skills.

4. Get a Mount Early

The map is huge. Get a horse as soon as possible from the stable to fast travel and explore.

STR

Increases melee damage and grab effectiveness

AGI

Increases attack speed and dodge distance

VIT

Increases health and defense

INT

Increases skill damage and SP pool

Recommended Starting Build

For beginners: Equal STR and AGI. This gives you good damage while maintaining mobility for dodging.

🎣 Fishing

Relaxing activity that provides food materials and rare fish for upgrades.

  • • Provides cooking ingredients
  • • Rare fish give permanent buffs

🍳 Cooking

Create healing items and stat-boosting meals.

Buy low, sell high across different regions.

  • • Unlocks at Level 8
  • • Higher profit with reputation
  • • Fastest silver making method

Early Game Advice

First 2 Hours

  • • Complete the prologue - teaches core mechanics
  • • Choose Longsword as your first weapon - most forgiving
  • • Do the first 3 side quests - they unlock fast travel
  • • Get a horse from the stable - essential for exploration
